The Dos Pinos Project is a state-of-the-art hybrid renewable energy installation located in La Serena, Chile, designed to meet the growing energy demands of the region while supporting the transition to a more sustainable energy model. The system combines a 3 MWp solar photovoltaic (PV) plant with a 15 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), enabling clean power generation and advanced energy management capabilities.
The solar plant is equipped with 4,263 high-efficiency PV modules mounted on 86 single-axis solar trackers, optimized for maximum solar exposure throughout the day. Energy conversion is handled by a central inverter of 3.06 MVA, and the system’s output is enhanced and stabilized by three lithium-ion BESS containers. This configuration ensures consistent power supply, load balancing, and the ability to store excess energy for later use or grid support.
SIDASA Engineering has been responsible for the complete turnkey execution of the project, including engineering design, procurement, civil works, mechanical and electrical installation, and system commissioning. In addition, the entire installation is managed by SIDASA’s proprietary SCADA and EMS platform, which provides real-time monitoring, remote control, and data-driven optimization.
The Dos Pinos Project represents a scalable and replicable model for clean energy infrastructure in Latin America, integrating cutting-edge technology, reliability, and environmental responsibility.
The Dos Pinos Project is a full EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) solution delivered entirely by SIDASA Engineering, demonstrating our capacity to manage complex hybrid renewable systems from concept to commissioning. Our team has been responsible for every stage of the project: site engineering, technical studies, equipment procurement, civil works, mechanical and electrical installation, commissioning, and final grid connection.
The plant combines 3 MWp of photovoltaic generation with a 15 MWh lithium-ion Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), making it one of the most advanced hybrid systems in the region. The PV field includes 4,263 monocrystalline modules mounted on 86 horizontal single-axis trackers, and is connected through a central 3.06 MVA inverter. Energy storage is distributed across three battery containers, enhancing grid stability, energy shifting, and peak shaving capabilities.
A key differentiator of this project is the integration of SIDASA’s proprietary SCADA and EMS platform, which ensures total control and transparency over the operation. This intelligent system allows real-time monitoring, automated alerts, energy flow optimization, remote control, and predictive maintenance, all from a centralized interface. Its modular design enables future upgrades and seamless integration of additional assets.
Through Dos Pinos, SIDASA Engineering delivers not only clean energy, but also long-term value, control, and operational reliability for our client.
